Philanthropy is something that has always taken an interest in Dr. Weisfogel’s life. He recently started a GoFundMe campaign for an organization that he is very passionate about. The organization is called Operation Smile and they have been traveling the world for many years helping children and young adults with their oral problems. Operation Smile was founded by Bill and Kathy Magee in the early 80’s, and they have been able to perform over 220,000 surgeries since. Their first mission was stationed in the Philippines where they were able to perform their first successful surgery. They work on children who suffer from cleft palates, cleft lips and other facial deformities. They work with local clinics, hospitals and medical facilities to treat each patient during surgery and after surgery. They treat each child as if they are their very own, and work hard to ensure that the patient’s needs are met. Dr. Weisfogel, along with the volunteers at Operation Smile, are pleased to be able to provide this service to communities all over the world and learn more about Avi.
